Easter Fun, Southern Style

We went out to Jesup today to experience some southern Easter festivities - boy did we have fun! They started out the day with the telling of the Easter story, definitely different from any egg hunt we'd been to back home. Then after everything was over they had hotdogs, chips, soda and cotton candy for everybody - the best part was everthing all day long was free!Ashlyn made quite the haul for her first Easter egg hunt.
They had all kinds of inflatables set up for the kids to play on all morning. Blake had a lot of fun, Ashlyn was just a hair too young to take advantage of them though.
This was the best part of the day...a chicken chase! A couple of chickens were let loose and each kid who caught one of them won a cash prize. Talk about hilarious, we felt bad for the chickens though. That was definitely not an event that you'd see back home without all kinds of picketers! Those hippy-tree-huggers take all the fun out of everything!
The last thing the kids were able to do was horse rides. Ashlyn was too scared once she got to the front of the line, so Blake was a big brother and let her ride with him. "Yee-Haw!"
