He is an 11 month old, pure bred pocket beagle. After the first night disaster of him howling FOREVER when we went to bed and Rick getting FURIOUS, he has been a delight! The best part was he was already potty trained. I didn't tell the kids we were getting him, picking him up while they were both at baseball/softball practice and surprising them when they got home.
He LOVES to help Ashlyn with the dishes each night.
We have quite a few mirrors down at his level and he can't help checking himself out each time he walks past one.
He loves to look out the window and gets really grouchy if we don't open the blinds for him in the morning. Thank goodness most of the windows are low since he is short.
Every time I get home he jumps up on my lap and gives me a big hug and cuddles for a few minutes.
He definitely thinks he is a lap dog, which is pretty funny since he weighs 25 lbs.
If he is still awake when we go to bed we make him sleep in his kennel cause he tries to sleep in our bed...hate to break it to him that it will be a cold day in hell before Rick lets that happen! However, Rick did suggest bringing the kennel in our room so he wouldn't be lonely.
As much as Rick has said he hates dogs since we have been married and that he wouldn't help with anything if we got one, he sure has enjoyed having Cooper around. The second night we had him I about died when he called him over to sit on his lap while I cooked dinner.
Cooper's new thing is anytime Ashlyn is sitting on Rick's lap and cuddling, he jumps up and joins them too. Ashlyn says it is because Cooper is jealous and an attention hoarder, which we all busted up about! We love having him be a part of our family!
