Ashlyn was one of 10 kids chosen from her school to participate in a few concerts this week with the Walla Walla Symphony - the longest running Symphony west of the Mississippi!
The best part was that she got to do it with 3 of her BFFs - Natalie, Alexis and Rainy.
Last night was their dress rehearsal...
...and tonight was the first show. They sounded amazing! Some of the songs they played along with recorders and others they sang with. It was a lot of fun to watch their show, "The Orchestra Moves" that explored many different genres of musics. I took a few videos throughout the concert of my favorite songs...click on the titles/links for the videos to pop up.
And what better way to end a fun family night watching Ashlyn preform with the Symphony than with ice cream! We sure love watching our little firecracker as she grows up and gets to be involved in more and more things, developing her talents. Nice job Ashlyn, thanks for such a fun night at the Symphony!
This morning when I dropped her off for the performances I was able to listen to them warm up in the dressing room. Their 10 little voices were booming with the acoustics of the room, they sounded AMAZING! Brought tears to my eyes listening to them run through all the songs, acapella no less...but of course I didn't think to video it until the end of the last song. The video doesn't do it justice of how loud they were and how beautiful they sounded harmonizing....
We are soooo lucky and grateful to have an AMAZING music teacher at our school who really instills a love of music with these kids and goes out of her way to give them opportunities like this. Ashlyn is already really sad to only have one more year with Mrs. Davis before moving on to middle school.
