We are in full swing with the soccer season, with the end just around the corner. Ashlyn is loving every minute of it. The core of her team has been the same girls with one or two being different each year, which makes it fun to play. After team pictures opening day we had a 2 hour break until our game....
...what better way to spend the time than with a little team building off the field eating breakfast at McDonald's. They really are great friends and have just as much fun together off the field.
I love their little pow-wows and pep talks they huddle together for!
I really need to get a video of Ashlyn and her BFF Alexis' victory dance they do when one of them scores a goal, it is hilarious! And no matter where they are on the field they run to each other to do it. The first time the coach didn't see, the second time he was laughing and asked what the heck that was...now all the parents sit on the side line and watch for it, priceless. They planned it at school one day, but I figured there was no way they would actually do it in front of everybody. Blake hopes they get a yellow card for excessive celebration, so far the refs haven't even noticed I don't think.
However, Blake was the referee for one of their games, he had a chance to give them one, but I don't think it even crossed his mind! They had a mix up with the referee schedules and we didn't have one...Ashlyn's coached asked him to do it. We kept begging her to argue a call all dramatic like...similar to how she fights ALL the time with him at home, but she wouldn't do it.
