This weekend Rick had a short CE conference in the Spokane area to attend on Saturday so we decided to all go and hang out at Silver Mountain in Kellog, ID for the weekend. There was a huge mountain bike event on Saturday, so everybody was up on the mountain and we were able to walk on every ride pretty much all day.
We went to the grocery store to get breakfast and lunch stuff for our hotel room since Rick would be gone for the day with the car and the resort is in the middle of nowhere. We were soooo excited to find our favorite Canadian chips - All Dressed flavored and bought 3 bags, tasty!
The kids had fun playing on all the slides and in the lazy river all day...Rick joined us after his meetings. The favorite by far was the FlowRider. It took a little bit to learn how to do it, but we had fun learning. Luckily, in the morning we had it all to ourselves for about a half hour so we didn't look like fools in front of everybody.
Blake was the first person of the day to try it...

but him and Ashlyn were a little nervous, which made me laugh since they both have boogie boarded in the ocean since they were 3...probably younger for Ashlyn...which is WAY scarier and more dangerous than this ride! The gal was great and walked them through it and even took Ashlyn out on the surface to show her it is like a big trampoline and jumped with her, showing her it wouldn't hurt if she fell and had her sit on it and see how it would just slide her up, not scary at all.
They ended up playing on it the most out of all the rides. Ashlyn rode a few times, but got shot off the back end of the wave and was done. She got pretty good at it though...
We couldn't get Blake off the thing when it was time to go, so we all headed back the room and let him stay for another hour and went back to get him after we all had showered. He got pretty sassy on it, but was sad he wasn't able to do tricks like barrel rolls some of the other teenage boys could do.
Rick and I couldn't help but try it out too! In my defense, this was my first try...
Rick had fun and was able to figure out how to move around on it faster than I did...
We had fun on the smaller slides, the tube slides and the big family raft ride, but eventually had to call it quits to go get pizza and be in our room in time for the Oregon game at 7 o'clock. Luckily, since we didn't have to wait in line at all the whole day we were tired and ready to call it quits about 5 o'clock, which gave us plenty of time.
We sure love to tag along when Dad has conferences to go to!
