Today was the opening game of Blake's basketball season. Unfortunatley the county's gym is undergoing a HUGE remodel, so he had to play with the city's Rec. Department.
I understand we're in the South, but last time I checked the calendar just flipped to 2011...our town has two teams at Blake's age level - one team with ALL black kids and coaches and the other team with ALL white kids and coaches. And to make matters worse, Blake and the coach's son are the only kids on the team who have EVER played basketball before AND there are two kids who aren't much taller than Ashlyn on the team.
On the bright side...Blake played the entire game and had a good time. Unfortunately they got their butts kicked by a team from a neighboring county. Good thing it's about having fun, not winning at this age!
Notice they have a tank top style jersey this year? But then they told them they all had to wear a black t-shirt under it. Am I the only one we thinks that's silly?? Ya should've seen Blake try and put the tanktop on the first time...put his head in the arm whole and was TOTALLY confused when the shirt didn't sit right - that's my boy!

Thats awesome that he was a bit confused how to put on a tank! Hopefully my boy can play some sports! I cant believe how big blake is. I remember him at my wedding and hes grown so much even since then!
